About Course

Pre-University (PU) Science stream in Karnataka, the curriculum is set by the Department of Pre-University Education, Government of Karnataka. The PU Science curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in science and mathematics, preparing them for higher education and future career opportunities in fields such as engineering, medicine, technology, and pure sciences. Here’s a general overview of the subjects and topics covered in the PU Science stream:

 

Duration : 2 Years


ELIGIBILITY: 10TH Standard Pass

SCIENCE Combinations:

a) Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/Biology


b) Physics/ Chemistry/Mathematics/Computer Science

Affiliated to Pre-University Board, Government of Karnataka.

 

Note: The elective subjects may vary based on the availability and discretion of the PU Board.

Assessment and Examinations:

Students in the PU Science stream are assessed through regular tests, assignments, projects, and practical examinations conducted throughout the academic year. At the end of each year (I PUC and II PUC), students appear for the Pre-University examinations conducted by the Department of Pre-University Education, Government of Karnataka.

Additional Activities:

Apart from academic studies, PU Science students may also engage in co-curricular and extracurricular activities such as science exhibitions, seminars, workshops, and practical demonstrations to enhance their understanding of scientific concepts and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
